Holmdel 5/23/16 
In a classic pitchers' duel, Jay Kalieta (2 for 3, 2 SB) took the ball & manned up. Kalieta pitched 5 strong innings, surrendering only 3 hits & 3 walks, leading to just 2 Holmdel runs. Matt Silva (1 for 3) Nick Trapani (1 for 3, Double), Ben Porricelli (1 for 2, Run, 2 SB, Walk), Zaire Wiliams (1 for 3), Griffin Falco (1 for 3), & Ryan Anderson (1 for 2) all collected hits. 
 
The bigger news: Not since the days of Chris Stark, Nick Citro, Rick Derelhilo, & the local legend Jimmy Scheuing have these words been uttered: THE HUSKIES ARE CHAMPS! THE HUSKIES HAVE WON THE LEAGUE! It may have taken Joe Dimario, Stephen Malone, Alex Cella, & Dave Deegan a little longer than they wanted, but the 2016 MAMS Baseball Team brought home the championship! 
 
Special thanks to 8th graders Ryan Anderson, RJ Clifton, Griffin Falco, Jay Kalieta, Dylan Livich, Ben Poricelli, Christian Rivera, Matt Silva, Nick Trapani, Zaire Williams & Carlos Zeno. You will be missed. Thank you for working so hard. Good luck in high school & beyond.
 
The future also looks bright for MAMS Baseball next year. 7th graders Rocko Brezniak, Mike Caldon, Tim Egan, Luke Elliott, Aidan Holeman, Jacob Ramirez, & Dom Salot will try to defend our title.
 
 
Thorne 5/20/16 
After a shaky start, your beloved Huskies put up crooked numbers in the first, second, & third innings to take control of this game. Ben Porricelli (3 for 3, Run, 3 SB, Walk, 3 RBI), Jay Kalieta (3 for 3, 3 Runs, 3 SB, Walk, RBI), & Matt Silva (1 for 1, 4 Runs, 2 SB, 3 Walks, RBI) led the way. Rocko Brezniak (1 for 2, 2 Runs, Triple, Walk, 3 RBI), Zaire Williams (1 for 2, Run, SAC, Walk, 2 RBI), & RJ Clifton (2 for 2, 2 Runs, Walk, 2 RBI) enjoyed a great day at the plate. Griffin Falco (1 for 3, Run, Walk), Tim Egan (1 for 2), & Mike Caldon (1 for 3, Run, RBI) all collected hits. Egan notched his first win on the mound.
 
 
Thompson 5/19/16 
Another day, another 15 hits. Ho Hum. The story of this game was pitching. Rocko Brezniak (3 for 4, 2 Doubles, Walk, 3 RBI) took the ball & went right after a potent hitting lineup. After a shaky first inning, Brezniak settled in & scattered 3 hits through 4 innings & left with a 9-5 lead. Jay Kalieta (2 for 4, 2 Runs, 2 SB, Walk, RBI) pitched the final 3 innings, scattering 5 hits while not allowing any more Thompson runs. Matt Silva (4 for 5, 3 Runs, 2 SB, RBI) & Jacob Ramirez (3 for 4 Run, RBI) also led the offensive charge. Zaire Williams (2 for 4, Run) had a great day at the plate & in the field. Ben Porricelli (1 for 3, 2 Runs, Walk, RBI) executed a successful squeeze. Nick Trapani had 2 RBIs. Your beloved Huskies magic number is now 1!
 
 
Bayshore 5/16/16 
Jay Kalieta (2 for 5, Run, SB) took the ball & pitched with determination & guts to shut down a potent Bayshore lineup. The story of the day was the bats! Led by Ben Porricelli (4 for 4, Run, Double, 3 RBI) & Rocko Brezniak (3 for 5, 3 Runs, Double, HR, SB, 5 RBI), your beloved Huskies pounded 18 hits to dominate this game. Brezniak connected for a Grand Slam HR in the top of the 7th to break this game open. Matt Silva (2 for 3, 2 Runs, SB, 2 Walks) & Nick Trapani (3 for 4, Run, Walk, RBI) also enjoyed huge days at the plate. Zaire Williams (1 for 4, Run), Griffin Falco (1 for 4), Christian Rivera (1 for 3, Run, walk, RBI), & Jacob Ramirez (1 for 4, Run) contributed to this victory. RJ Clifton & Trapani eached pitched an inning in relief.
 
 
Neptune 5/12/16 
Another day, another hit barrage, this time with multiple bombs! Jay Kalieta (2 for 2, 3 Runs, Double, 2 SB, 2 Walks, RBI) is proving himself to be the best player in the league. Rocko Brezniak (2 for 2, Run, Double, Triple, RBI) can wake up New Year's Morning & hit a line drive with a #2 pencil. Griffin Falco (2 for 3, Double, 2 RBI) broke the game open in the 5th inning. Matt Silva (2 for 2, SB), Ben Porricelli (1 for 3, SB), Zaire Williams (1 for 1, SB), & Ryan Anderson (1 for 1, Walk) all contributed mightily to this win. Carlos Zeno pitched effectively for the first 4 innings. Ryan Anderson earned the win with 2 innings in relief. Nick Trapani got the save.
 
 
Holmdel 5/11/16 
Holy WOW! The juggernaut that is your beloved Huskies offensive game was on full display yesterday as we crushed an amazing 19 hits in 6 innings of work. Ben Porricelli (3 for 3, 2 Runs, RBI) led the hit barrage. Christian Rivera (2 for 3, 2 Runs, Triple, RBI) is the hottest player in the Shore Conference. Matt Silva (3 for 4, 3 Runs, SB, 2 RBI) & Jay Kalieta (2 for 4, 2 Runs, Double, SB) enjoyed great days at the plate. Rocko Brezniak (2 for 3, Walk, 2 RBI) took the ball & pitched effectively to earn the win. Griffin Falco (1 for 3, Run, Double, Walk, RBI) hit a BOMB in the bottom of the first. Luke Elliott, Aidan Holeman, Nick Trapani, Zaire Williams, & Dom Salot each had at least 1 hit.
 
 
Ocean 5/10/16 
Your beloved Huskies played Ocean for an unprecedented third home game and the hit parade was on! In a total team effort, we gained control of this game in the first inning and never relinquished it. Christian Rivera lead the way with 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Jay Kalieta was on base 4 times with 2 hits & 2 walks. Matt Silva had 2 hits also. Nick Trapani, Zaire Williams, Ben Porricelli, Jacob Ramirez, Rocko Brezniak, Griffin Falco all had at least a hit. Kalieta earned the win, Trapani earned a hold, & Carlos Zeno earned his first save.
 
 
Hazlet 5/2/16 
Jay Kalieta (3 for 5, 2 Runs, Double, 2 SB, RBI) took the ball and, after a shaky start, settled in and pitched effectively to get the win. Nick Trapani (1 for 4, Run, Double) pitched the final 3 innings to earn he save. Matt Silva (2 for 5, Run, RBI), Rocko Brezniak (2 for 3, Run, SB, Walk, 2 RBI), Zaire Williams (2 for 4, 2 Runs, 2 SB, RBI) & Christian Rivera (2 for 3, Walk, 2 RBI) dominated the plate. Ben Porricelli, who played a flawless shortstop, collected a RBI on a perfect squeeze bunt to score Griffin Falco. 
 
 
Cedar Drive (Colts Neck) 4/28/16 
On a cold, rainy day. Rocko Brezniak & Carlos Zeno pitched a gem, combining for 7 strikeouts & 2 walks (in 5 innings) while allowing only 1 hit. Jay Kalieta (3 for 3, Run, 2 SB, 2 RBI) is officially on fire. Nick Trapani (2 for 3, 2 Runs) & Zaire Williams (2 for 2, Double, 2 Runs, Walk, RBI) are not far behind. Ben Porricelli (2 for 4, Run, Double, 2 RBI) & Ryan Anderson (2 for 3, Walk, 3 RBI) enjoyed great afternoons. Matt Silva (1 for 3, Run) & Dominic Salot (1 for 1, Run) also contributed to this victory.
 
 
Neptune 4/26/16 
Another game, another offensive explosion. Your beloved Huskies amassed 17 hits to dismantle a good Neptune team. Rocko Brezniak (3 for 3, Double, 2 Runs, RBI) & Jacob Ramirez (3 for 4, Double, K) led the way. Jay Kalieta (2 for 2, 2 Runs, SB, Walk, 2 RBI), Zaire Williams (2 for 3, 2 Runs), & Christian Rivera (2 for 3, 2 Runs, RBI) enjoyed great days at the plate. Ryan Anderson (1 for 1, RBI), Nick Trapani (1 for 2, 3 Runs, Walk, RBI), Ben Porriceli (1 for 2, Run, Walk, RBI), & RJ Clifton (1 for 2, Run, Walk, RBI) contributed to this victory. Kalieta picked up the win with Anderson finishing the last 2 innings.
 
 
Ocean 4/19/16 
Your beloved Huskies deserved a better fate after cracking 14 hits, including 2 doubles, while only striking out twice in this game. Unfortunately, poor defense & pitching were the untimely culprit for this defeat. Jay Kalieta (3 for 3, Walk, 3 Runs) led the way offensively as he was on base 4 times. Nick Trapani (3 for 4, Double, 3 RBI) enjoyed a great day at the plate. Matt Silva (2 for 4, Run, RBI), Rocko Brezniak (2 for 4, Double, RBI), & Ryan Anderson (2 for 3, Run) all contributed heavily. Christian Rivera & Ben Porricelli each collected a hit. 
 
 
THOMPSON 4/18/16 
In a game already deemed an instant classic, your beloved Huskies battled and battled on a day where, collectively, we did not have our 'A' game, but just willed our way to a win. Jay Kalieta (2 for 4. 2 SB, 2 BB) was both an inspirational and performance leader. Kalieta pitched 4 innings, striking out 5 while walking 2. In the bottom of the first, Jay stole second but was spiked down his right forearm. After missing only 1 inning, Jay went back to the mound to finish what he started. Very impressive! Rocko Brezniak (2 for 2, Double, Triple, 3 Runs, 2 BB, 2 RBI) had a huge day at the plate. Jacob Ramirez (2 for 3, Double, Walk, RBI) was an offensive force. Matt Silva (1 for 2, 2 Runs, 2 BB) was on base all day while playing stellar defense. Nick Trapani hit the ball hard and collected 2 RBI. Zaire Williams had the game winning RBI with a walk off single in the bottom of the 7th. 
 
 
LONG BRANCH 4/13/16
  The offensive juggernaut that is your beloved Huskies exploded once again, amassing 16 hits & 6 walks in 5 innings, while still playing flawless defense. Jacob Ramirez (3 for 4, Run, Double, 3 RBI) is hotter than the sun. Ben Porricelli (2 for 3, Run, 2 RBI) enjoyed a breakout day. Jay Kalieta (2 for 2, 2 Runs, Double, Walk, Stolen Base, RBI) was the catalyst at the top of our order. In all, 15 out of the 16 players who batted got on base. RJ Clifton earned the win, pitching into the 3rd, striking out the side in the 2nd & started a double play in the first. Ryan Anderson pitched the final 3 innings, also striking out 3 in this dominant victory.
 
 
OCEAN 4/11/16
 Your beloved Huskies pounded 10 hits, sprinkled with 4 walks, against perennial powerhouse Ocean Township to open the 2016 season with a dominant victory. Rocko Brezniak (2 for 3, Walk, Run, RBI) & Jacob Ramirez (2 for 3, Double, RBI) led the charge that saw every Husky hitter get on base at least once. Christian Rivera (2 for 3, 2 RBI) had the big hit, a 2 out single in the bottom of the 5th, that drove in two to give us a lead we would not relinquish. Jay Kalieta (1 for 4), Matt Silva (1 for 3, Walk, RBI), Nick Trapani (1 for 3, SAC, RBI), Ben Porricelli (1 for 4), Zaire Williams (2 Walks, Run), & RJ Clifton (1 for 3, Run) all contributed at the plate. Stellar defense held Ocean to just 2 first inning runs as the Huskies made every play in the field. Kalieta & Trapani combined to strike out 4 while scattering 6 hits.
