2020-2021 Game Reports
10/6 Hazlet Home
Your beloved Huskies opened this unprecedented 2020 shortened season by welcoming rival Hazlet to their home field. The Huskies saw their best efforts in the first 15 minutes of the game by dominating midfield & getting a few chances in front of Hazlet's goal. After the initial minutes, Hazlet regrouped & found the back of the net 6 unanswered times. Trevor Cole & Marl Mallozzi had good games in the back as did Mike McCabe & Ameer Emera in the midfield.
10/8 Thompson Away
Once again, your beloved Huskies came out strong & dominated the first 10-15 minutes. Unfortunately, soccer games are 60 minutes. After some sloppy defense spotted Thompson a few goals, Trevor Cole took an Ameer Emera cross and headed in the first goal of the season. Evan Coco enjoyed a good game in the midfield.
10/14 Bayshore Home
Your beloved Huskies fell into the same pattern: dominate early & give up poor goals late. After spotting Bayshore an easy goal, Aun Amir followed a Nico Skeete cross to even the slate. Evan Coco received a Sean Sobocinski pass to earn the first lead of the season. Then, Amir returned the favor by assisting on Skeete's goal for a 3-1 lead. Bayshore took advantage of some miscues to score 4 unanswered goals to take the game.
10/20 Holmdel Home
On a beautiful day at Strathmore, your beloved Huskies turned in their best performance of the season. Mike McCabe moved to the middle back & dominated the Homdel offense. Nico Skeete opened the scoring early in the first half when he found the back of the net off an Aun Amir pass. Skeete also tallied an unassisted goal in the second half. Sean Sobocinski & Evan Coco enjoyed inspired performances in the midfield. Tim Seldura made many diving saves to keep the Huskies in the game.
10/22 Neptune Away
The progress continues. Your beloved Huskies keep getting better. Evan Coco opened the scoring on a pass from Colin Reitmann in the first half to take an early lead. Nico Skeete added to the lead in the beginning of the second half. Neptune capitalized on 2 free kicks to equalize and send the game into overtime. Just like most of the game, the first OT saw Husky domination, controlling the ball, just not finding the back of the net. In the middle of the second OT, Coco got the ball at Neptune's 40, juked a couple of defenders, & hit an absolute rocket to score the Golden Goal & take the game. Tim Seldura was everywhere in the Husky net. Mike McCabe, Jack Ivers, & Mark Mallozi consistently shut down a potent Neptune attack. Ameer Emera & Sean Sobocinski controlled the midfield while Anthony Brereton was dangerous up top.
