Game Reports '14

Matawan 2...Neptune 2
The Lady Huskies opened up the 2014 with a 2-2 draw against Neptune. After an early PK for Neptune made it 1-0, Dana Morgan converted on her own PK to tie the game. Sarina Johns gave the Huskies a 2-1 lead with an assist from Meghan Wassmer but were unable to hold serve as Neptune tallied a late goal. Katie DeVoe made several outstanding saves to preserve the tie. 
 
Matawan 5...Long Branch 0
Matawan wasted little time taking control of this game against the Green Wave as Kailie Benko scored her first MAMS goal on the first of two assists by Meghan Wassmer. Bryn Radvanski scored her first two MAMS goals and Anna Margarites found the back of the net for the first time as a Husky. Dana Morgan scored her second goal in as many games and Cassie Daniele notched an assist. Katie DeVoe blanked Long Branch for her first career MAMS victory in net. Julia Miller scored her second goal in extra time and Kerryn Magee and Maddy Weidner each added one a piece.  
 
Matawan 1...Thompson 4
The Huskies held Thompson off the scoreboard for the first half, but two quick goals in the second half seemed to deflate Matawan as Thompson cruised 4-1. Caley Scheuing found the back of the net for her first career MAMS goal on a nice assist from Kelly Lambertson. 
 
Matawan 1...Bayshore 2
The Huskies put forth a strong effort but fell victim to a late Bayshore goal to lose 2-1 at Strathmore. Kailie Benko scored with an assist from Haylie McNerney.  
 
Matawan 1...Ocean 0
The Huskies defeated Ocean for the first time in school history as Kailie Benko notched her third goal with a team-leading 4th assist to Meghan Wassmer. Katie DeVoe earned her second shut out of the season with support from her defenders Melissa Ruggierio, Kelly Lambertson, Sarah Incorvaia and Sara Margarites. 
 
Matawan 0...Colts Neck 2
The Huskies dropped to 2-3-1 on the season with a 2-0 loss to Colts Neck.  
 
Matawan 1...Hazlet 5
The Huskies gave the Rockets a square as they jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Kailie Benko's fourth goal of the season. However, Hazlet responded with 5 unanswered goals to remain undefeated. 
 
Matawan 1...Thorne 2
The Huskies dropped to 2-5-2 on the season with a 2-1 loss to Thorne. Bryn Radvanski notched her third goal and Kerryn Magee collected her first MAMS assist.
